Your first visit / examination
Firstly, we can’t wait to meet and get to know you – we want to build a lasting and trusting relationship with you and your family, focussed on helping you achieve oral health and a beautiful healthy smile. We want CDP to become your ‘dental home’.
What do you want to achieve from your dental visit? We want to know.
We take the time to find out what your concerns and goals are and what you want to achieve. We offer a wide variety of treatments with our practitioners holding a combined over 50 years of dental experience: professional cleaning, whitening, braces, fillings, crowns, bridges, extractions, implants, root canals or new dentures. It may be surprising to know that some serious conditions such as periodontal/gum disease can be painless (you may be unaware that your teeth or gums are in poor shape) until well advanced but we can fully examine you, diagnose any conditions, discuss with you the options and come up with a strategy to gain and maintain health.
We thoroughly examine all of your teeth, gums and mouth. We gather more information if necessary using low dose radiation digital x-rays to detect issues early. We also have a larger digital extra-oral x-ray machine if more information is required. Another useful piece of equipment we have is a small mouth intra-oral camera so we can show you exactly what is going on in your mouth on a computer screen. We accurately record your existing dental condition. We use plain English when explaining things to you so you can understand what is happening in your mouth.
We comprehensively discuss the results of the examination and plan the way forward together. If further treatment is needed we will give an itemised estimate describing all fees and appointments involved so there are no surprises.
We can then work in with both your schedule and ours to provide the treatment in an appropriate amount of time. We are flexible – we can make longer appointments to cater to those who have travelled or shorter appointments if that is what you prefer.
