Dr Donald Clarke

Dr Donald Clarke – Dentist

Don graduated from UQ Dental School in 1977 and joined his father (also a dentist) working in Chinchilla. In fact Don comes from a family of dentists, with his father, mother, and three uncles who practised dentistry.

Don is a very experienced and skilled clinician in all areas of general practice with special interests in orthodontics and the reconstruction of patients with very worn teeth. Don completed his ‘Progressive Orthodontic Seminars’ studies in 1994. He also enjoys providing his clients with strong and aesthetic ceramic restorations using Cerec technology with the aim of allowing patients to become comfortable in the knowledge that they have a good looking and functional smile.

Outside dentistry:

Outside dentistry, Don and his wife Lindy have raised 4 children and are now enjoying being grandparents. In his younger years, Don was a very active sportsman achieving representative honours in cricket and rugby union. In 1974 Don played in the premiership winning side of the mighty Chinchilla Bull Dogs rugby league team. He retains a keen interest in many sports and has now upgraded his gardening skills by incorporating vegetable and egg production- 3 chooks!

 Dr Gina Irwin

Dr Gina Irwin – Dentist

Gina graduated from the University of Queensland Dental School in Brisbane with Class I Honours in 1999 and has been working at CDP since 2001. Gina went to primary and high school in Chinchilla before moving away to study. Her family’s history in the Chinchilla district go back to pioneering days.

Gina has a nickname she is proud of, “Gentle Gina”. She likes to help you feel comfortable, safe and as relaxed as possible at your dental appointments. She seeks to help you achieve and maintain optimal oral health through a lifetime relationship, which is both caring and professional. She strives to assist you to achieve the oral aesthetics or appearance, comfort and function that you desire.

One of the things she loves about her job is that she gets to work with and help people of all ages and backgrounds. She places great importance in the prevention of dental problems by finding out why they have occurred. Gina takes the time to get to know you, finds out your concerns about your mouth, diagnoses comprehensively and helps you achieve a beautiful, healthy smile.

Another aspect of her work she finds extremely rewarding is providing orthodontic treatment and transforming smiles. She has completed ‘Progressive Orthodontics Seminars’ in 2009 and the ‘Smilefast Magic Braces’ (rapid adult straightening) course in 2014. Continuing education and keeping up to date with new techniques is very important to her so that she knows the treatment she is providing is the very best available.

Gina enjoys the dental clinic team environment, working with people who have clear and common goals. She loves that she is surrounded by a team where the members seek constant improvement in their ability to provide dentistry and the delivery of excellent service.

Outside dentistry:

Gina and her husband Wes are raising their 3 children Fletcher, Rupert and Zali and have chickens, cattle and fruit trees on their hobby farm on the edge of town. Gina’s favourite activities include going to the movies, attending music festivals, visiting art galleries, bush walking, swimming, gardening projects, cooking, dining out and spending quality time with her family and friends.


Dr Joe Wei – Dentist

Dr Joe joined the CDP team in May 2018. Joe was born in Taiwan, moved to New Zealand at age 4 and then came to Queensland for university where he obtained his Bachelor of Dental Science (Hons). Just like Don, Joe’s father is a dentist and as a child Joe liked to watch him work and developed an interested in the field. Joe would like everyone to know that his English is much better than his Chinese!

Joe enjoys the daily interaction with patients and educating them on how to improve their oral health and how to prevent further disease. In particular Joe has an interest in restorative dentistry and minor oral surgery.

Joe is embracing country life and likes the friendly staff  at CDP who have welcomed him warmly. He likes our spacious, modern and well-equipped facility. He also likes our little courtyard garden and how close we are to his favourite Indian take-away!

Outside dentistry:

Joe is a self-described classic nerd! He is a big fan of anime, manga, video games and movies. He listens to Japanese and Korean pop music and watches tennis. One of his favourite hobbies is exploring different foods, especially any kind of good curry!

 

 

Kylie Birch – Oral Health Therapist/Hygienist

Kylie joined us as our OHT/ Hygienist in November 2016. Kylie was born and grew up in Yeppoon where her parents owned a mechanical business so she spent her childhood around cars. Kylie is a great fit with the CDP team as she likes the family feel of the practice. She enjoys the excellent communication, friendliness and organisation here and also working in our happy environment. Kylie states that the best part of her job is the variety of the scope of treatment, meeting new people and the satisfaction she feels when helping our patients achieve a clean and healthy mouth. When not at work she enjoys cooking and hosting dinner parties and BBQs, renovating and lifestyle shows and magazines, crafts such has sewing, crochet and painting and spending time with her family at the beach.
